Mandalay Restaurant & Cafe is a family owned and operated business. Our family includes first and second generation (now third as well!) Americans of Burmese origin. On the floor nearly every day you can see Joe and Aung. If you have been to the Mandalay more than once you have probably met them both. Aung's and Joe's mom, the former head chef of the "Burma" restaurant in Washington, DC, runs the kitchen. Mr. Saw, their dad, travels regularly to and from Myanmar as does their brother, the younger Saw.
